This is the largest salt lake in the world, located at an altitude of 3,650 m. The vastness of the lake covered with white salt crust, in contrast with the deep blue of the sky and the surrounding mountains, makes the area surreal. A visit should include the laguna Colorada and laguna Verde. Accommodation can be very basic. During June, July and August temperatures are extremely cold at night.
