Valdes Peninsula

Argentina’s Atlantic costs boasts one of the most easily accessible and richly diverse marine wildlife areas in the Americas , home to penguins, whales, elephants seals, and numerous bird species. The region is connected with British immigrant settlers particularly from Wales who settled in the Chubut Valley in the second part of the 19th century

Los Glaciares National Park

The southern ice cap gives origin to many glaciers in southern Argentina, 47 in total, of these undoubtedly Perito Moreno Glacier is the most outstanding, with a frontage of nearly 5 km facing Lake Argentino.

The glacier is constantly growing (100 metres per year) and to experience the braking of the ice is an unforgettable experience. Huge pieces of ice plunge into the water of the lake, producing the most thunderous noise together with big waves on the lake.

The best time to visit this area is from October to April.

Tierra del Fuego

The island at the uttermost end of the earth” is a wild and harshly beautiful territory, with vast landscapes, the scene of struggles between the indigenous primitive tribe’s people and European immigrant farmers and traders. The Main features are the Beagle Channel, the Fagnano Lake and the vast pampas towards the Atlantic coast.

This was the land of Onas, today extinguished; The Onas, were the native people who lived in the island until they were confronted at the end of the 19th century with the white settlers.

The Port of Ushuaia is the main departure point for tours to Antarctica. From November until March vessels from all over the world leave this port to the Antarctic Peninsula.

Ushuaia is also a departure point for cruises to Punta Arenas. From September to April the Australis Cruises operates 2 routes connecting both cities and exploring the Cape Horn.
