Skorpios Cruises

Chonos Route,

The Skorpios Sea Cruises take you to the nearest glacier to the Equator, San Rafael at 46,7  south latitude. equivalent to the Loire Valley in the Northern  Hemisphere.

The Cruise starts in Puerto Montt on Saturday, from September to May. During 6 days you will navigate the fjords of Chilean northern Patagonia, the Chiloe island coast and archipelagos. This is an area of exuberant vegetation, tranquillity and an unspoiled ecosystem.

During the Cruise you will have the opportunity to sample the wonderful variety of seafood and shellfish the region offers. Produce is freshly purchased at the small fishing villages en route.This route is on board the M/V Skorpios II which has a capacity of 130 passengers

Kaweskar Route
Skorpios Cruises also offer an exciting 5-night cruise circuit from Puerto Natales, the Kawescar route, navigating the Channels of the southern Patagonia ice field. Highlights include South America’s greatest glacier Pio XI, and Puerto Eden at Wellington Island, home to the descendents of the Alacalufe Indians.

The voyage is taken with the M/V  Skorpios III which has a capacity of 110 passengers

AUSTRALIS CRUISES

The Australis cruises, provides the experience of travel to the most famous places in Southern Patagonia., including the Magellan Strait, Tierra del Fuego Island ,the Beagle Channel., and the Cape Horn as you journey through waters of the southern ocean, which are home to whales, dolphins, penguins, and a rich variety of sea-birds. You will be in owe of the wild beauty of the area, largely uninhabited and untouched by civilization, as you follow many of the routes of Charles during his exploration in the 1830’s.

The cruises Stella Australis and Via Australis, include approaches and visits to many glaciers along the coast, the small town of Puerto Williams on the Chilean Island of Navarino, the world southernmost permanent settlement and the Argentine port of Ushuaia on the Beagle Channel. The disembark at Cape Horn is one of the highlights of the cruises.

Lecturers on board give comprehensive briefings of the history flora and fauna of the region.

Both vessels, the Stella and Via Australis operate a four-day cruise which starts in Punta Arenas and travels to Ushuaia in Argentina. A similar but shorter cruise of 3 nights starts in Ushuaia and ends in Punta Arenas.
