  Arequipa & Colca

Located 1,020 km south of Lima and overlooked by the imposing Misti Volcano, Arequipa enjoys a pleasant dry climate. The abundance of rivers that flow from the Andes makes this region very fertile. Arequipa, so called" the white city" because of the volcanic rock used in many of its buildings, boasts perhaps one of the finest examples of colonial architecture in Peru.

UNESCO has declored Arequipa a Cultural Heritage of Mankind. Arequipa has also become an important tourist destination, as it is the main gateway for the Colca Canyan, considered to be one of the deepest in the world.

The two-day trip to Colco provides magnificent views of the Andes and the rural areas. The Cruz del Condor lookout point offers the possibility of seeing the condor. The lookout provides great vistas of the canyon allowing the traveller to appreciate its size and depth.
