Itinerary |
Day 1: Arrive in Puerto Maldonado. Meeting at the airport and transfer to the river port to board our motor canoe. Navigation of the Madre de Dios River. After we take a 45 minutes walk to Sandoval Lake (this could be hard during the rainy season). We board a canoe to cross the beautiful lake towards the lodge. Accommodation at the lodge. At night we will return to the lake for a night excursion in search of the black caiman

Day 2: Very early in the morning we leave for an excursion to the lake to observe the birds and other animals that inhabit the lake. We will also learn about the Brazil nut and its importance to the economy of the local communities. Most of the Brazil nuts come from the forests of this region. In the afternoon we will visit the east part of the lake.

Day 3: After breakfast transfer to the airport. Same as on arrival: Crossing of the lake, 45 minutes walk, then a canoe ride on the Madre de Dios River to Puerto Maldonado. Transfer to the airport.
