The Andes of central Chile offer excellent ski conditions from mid June until
the end of September. Near Santiago we found three major ski resorts:
El Colorado, La Parva and Valle Nevado. Further north is Portillo perhaps
the oldest and most famous. All of them are located at between 2,600 and 3,000 m. The high altitude of the ski areas, low humidity and plenty of sunny
Days favour a good powder snow.
480 kms south of Santiago we found the resort of Chillan, which has a great ski area, Chillan is also a famous spa resort.
The five resorts mentioned above offer weekly, all -inclusive programmes; in low season they could provide a shorter stay.
