| Day 1: Santiago - Iquique Arrival in Iquique and transfer to Arturo Prat Hotel located on the main plaza. Rest of the day free to walk in the old part of town, which boasts beautiful architecture from the last century when the city was one of the wealthiest in Chile because of the nitrate industry. |
Day 2: Iquique Full day tour to Pintados, the main area of geoglyphs in Chile. Along a 4-kilometere stretch, there are some 400 pre-Hispanic drawings, representing men, animals and abstract themes. Also visit La Tirana Sanctuary, Pampa del Tamarugal (a huge area covered by the Tamarugo tree), and the abandoned mining town of Humberstone. Lunch included.

Day 3: Iquique - Arica Transfer to the bus terminal to board the coach to Arica, a 4-hour journey through the Atacama Desert. Arrival in Arica, reception and transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day free. |
Day 4: Arica - Putre During the morning we visit the Archaeological Museum in Azapa, which contains artefacts and mummies from the Chinchorro culture. Then we drive to view the valley’s important geoglyphs on the nearby hills. After lunch, drive to Putre, with views en route into the Andes of some impressive canyons. Visit the small village of Socorama at 3,060 metres and then continue to Putre located at an altitude of 3,500 meters or 11,483 feet above sea level. Dinner and stay at Las Vicuñas

| Day 5: Putre - Arica Departure for Lauca National Park. The first stop is at Chungara Lake, located at 4,550 m / 14,924 feet, making it the highest lake in the world. The lake offers a great number and variety of birds and the area is also home to Andean camelidaes: llamas, alpacas, vicuñas and guanacos. Visit to Parinacota, a very small picturesque village which is today inhabited only during the carnival and religious feasts. Late in the afternoon return to Arica for an overnight stay. |
| Day 6: Arica - Santiago After breakfast, transfer to the airport to board your onward flight. |
